Case Study 1
Bringing the outside in: conversion, extension and kitchen renovation.
The customer started with a small kitchen adjacent to an old 'lean-to' outhouse which housed an outside WC and some poorly-used storage space. On completion, we had created a contemporary fully-fitted kitchen and dining area which incorporates two sets of sliding windows, chosen to allow the best use of small interior and exterior spaces and to maximise the feeling of openness.
Similarly, the ceiling at the near end of the room has been designed to exploit the full height of the roof. Meanwhile at the far end of the room, the introduction of some clever design transforms the ceiling into an attractive feature.
Hallmark NJBC attention to detail meant that the extension was constructed from reclaimed bricks and slate to blend with the rest of the house. In addition, the French windows now lead onto a new patio area, further extending the liveable area of the property, with the idea of connecting the outside to the inside.
